Attend a Visioning Workshop
In September, the General Plan Update's visioning workshops will take place. Members of the project team will introduce the community to the General Plan, and ask participants to share their ideas for the future of Hughson. This is an opportunity for you to help shape the City's land use patterns, economic development strategies, and key priorities for the next 20 years.

The Housing Element serves as the City’s “blueprint” for meeting the housing needs of Hughson residents at all economic levels and addressing segments of the population with special housing needs. The Draft Housing Element is currently available for public review and comment through August 27, 2024, and can be found here.
The Housing Needs and Priorities Survey seeks input from Hughson’s residents, business owners, and interested parties to identify current housing conditions, needs, and priorities. The community survey addresses the needs of populations with unique housing needs, including seniors, persons with a disability, including developmental disabilities, large families with 5 or more persons, female-headed households with children present, farmworkers, and the unhoused.
In the Fall of 2021 the City conducted two General Plan Update Visioning Workshops, which provided an opportunity for community members to identify key issues, challenges, and priorities that the City should address and consider as part of the General Plan Update. The City also hosted an online survey, which provided additional opportunities for input and participation.
The Outreach Summary Report (pdf) provides an overview of the outreach activities that have been conducted to date (Visioning Workshops, Online Survey, etc.) and includes a detailed summary of all of the public input received.
Additional opportunities for public input and participation will be provided during future stages of the General Plan Update process.
